SYNOPSIS

“Donald Trump is not an anomaly. He is the grotesque visage of a collapsed democracy. The creeping corporate coup d’état that began 45 years ago is complete. It has destroyed the lives of tens of millions of Americans no longer able to find work that provides a living wage,
cursed to live in chronic poverty.”
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Chris Hedges

The Corporate Coup D’État will examine this contention, and bring it to life cinematically, filming unfolding events in 2017-18, with a tour of the devastated U.S. Rust Belt threaded through the film.  Cutting-edge, innovative graphics, archival footage, and a gripping score will create a powerful cinematic experience that explores what Hedges and others call a decades-long coup d’état, in which corporations gradually took control of the political process in the U.S. and other western countries.
