SCN is a Saskatchewan Crown Corporation whose mandate is to provide increased access to information for all Saskatchewan residents. SCN develops services that promote the distribution of educational, informational and training programming.
The SCN Training Nework provides Saskatchewan people with opportunities for formal education and training in over 130 communities. The provinces's universities and SIAST work closely with SCN and the Regional Colleges to deliver credit programs to over 170 Saskatchewan classrooms. This delivery provides access to credit programming without individuals having to leave their own communities. SCN's Training Network is used by corporations, government and the non-profit sectors for satellite conferencing.
SCN"s Broadcast Newtowk reaches homes and schools using the province's cable, wireless cable and direct to home systems. SCN broadcasts from 10:30 a.m to 12:00 p.m. weekdays, and 8:00 am to 12:00 pm weekends. The Broadcast Network delivers K-12 curriculum-support broadcasts, and a wide range of educational, informational, and cultural programming.
