Award-winning filmmaker Sylvia Sweeney is the driving force behind An Act of Grace, an inspiring portrait of Grace Bagnato. Sylvia Sweeney is the president of the film and television production company, Elitha Peterson Productions. She works extensively in radio and television broadcasting, as producer, director and on-air host for the Women's Television Network, Vision TV and various current affairs programs.
Sweeney produced and directed In the Key of Oscar (1992), a Gemini award-winning biography of jazz pianist Oscar Peterson, and was the executive producer of Landed, a 26 part series profiling the lives and contributions of Canadian immigrant women. Other films by Sylvia Sweeney include The Packwood Family (1994), a documentary series on the history of Black communities in Canada, and Finish Line (1994), a look at Ben Johnson and the environment of sports, drug use and the media.
