Cathy Gulkin Filmmaker Cathy Gulkin is the granddaughter of Jacob and Rose Penner. In A Glowing Dream, she weaves together stories of her grandparents, which her mother and her uncles have been proudly telling her since she was a young girl. For more than twenty years, Cathy Gulkin has been one of Canada's foremost documentary editors. She has won a Gemini Award for Best Editing and an award at the Atlantic Film Festival. Gulkin has edited dozens of films broadcast on Canada's major TV networks including: Full Circle: The Untold Story of the Dionne Quintuplets for the CBC series, "Life and Times"; Erotica: A Journey into Female Sexuality and Abby, I Hardly Knew 'Ya for the TVOntario series, "The View From Here"; several episodes of Dudley the Dragon for YTV; and most recently, L'enfer et Contre Tous! For Radio Canada. A Glowing Dream is Cathy Gulkin's directorial début. Top of page.
