Stavros
C. Stavrides
Stavros Stavrides began his
career in documentary film, but has shown an uncanny eye for theatrical
features in recent years as a producer. He returns to his passion for
the documentary to direct this intensely personal film for A Scattering
of Seeds.
Stavrides wrote, produced and directed many award winning documentary
programs throughout the 1980's including the feature length "God
Rides A Harley", which won a Genie Award for Best Theatrical
Documentary in 1988. He also wrote and directed feature segments for CBC-TVs
"Venture", which earned him a Gemini Award nomination.
Stavrides currently produces theatrical and television movies with international
partners from his Toronto office. Awards for his productions include Best
Canadian Film (Toronto International Film Festival), Nomination for Best
Picture (Australia Academy Awards) and Bronze Plaque (Locarno Film Festival).
