Monette Jean-François Monette's career began with Anatomy of Desire, a co-production between the National Film Board of Canada and his own Bare Bone Films. Co-directed with Peter Tyler Boullata, the film questions biodeterministic science and it's tenets on sexual orientation. After receiving his MFA in Film Studies at Concordia University in 1998, Jean-François Monette produced and directed the autobiographical documentary Where Lies the Homo?, which received the Best Lesbian and Gay Film Award at tge Arbor Film Festval in 1999. Monette's first feature Take Out deals with teenagers and the coming-out process. |
