Biography: Ann Kennard
Ann Kennard is an award-winning film director with nearly twenty hours of Canadian television network documentary, and docudrama film to her credit. Her television documentaries have aired on current affairs and arts programs, including CBC Television's Adrienne Clarkson Presents,The Fifth Estate, The National, and Life & Times. Kennard recently directed the internationally award-winning feature documentary, The Powder Room(1997), about the gossip and going-ons that unfold in women's washrooms. Her most recent Biography profile on astronaut Roberta Bondar, Lone Star(1996), has been nominated for a 1998 Gemini Award for Best Science Documentary. Other documentary films by Ann Kennard include Martin Short, I Didn't Know He Could Sing(1995), featuring interviews with Short and several of his friends, and They Made Television(1995), taking a look at the early years of entertainment in Canadian broadcasting.
