Janice Dawe joined White Pine Pictures in 2005 as the Head of Business Affairs, a role that has gradually expanded to take advantage of her experience as a documentary and series Producer.  

At White Pine Pictures she has managed the business aspects of production for I, Nuligak: An Inuvialuit History of First Contact broadcast by History Television and APTN and recipient of the Best Biography Program at the 2006 Banff Television Festival, and Tsepong: A Clinic Called Hope for CBC and Vision which received the Deborah Fletcher Award for Excellence in Filmmaking in 2006.

Dawe brings to White Pine Pictures her industry experience and solid business and production skills honed during her years as an owner of Stone Soup Productions of Toronto, the company that produced four seasons of the successful lifestyle series, Harrowsmith Country Life , a two-time Gemini-nominee and 1996 CanPro Awarded series that aired on Life Network and The Discovery Channel.  

Dawe's series producing credits include: Great Canadian Rivers (Good Earth Productions) for Discovery Channel; Great Canadian Lakes (Good Earth Productions) for History Television and National Geographic Canada and the international co-pro, Streets of the World (Breakthrough Films) for History Channel and Discovery International.   Dawe began her career in Toronto with TVOntario and soon after established herself as an independent documentary producer of such notable films as Elizabeth Smart: On the Side of the Angels (Traveling Light Productions) for CBC's Adrienne Clarkson Presents.   This biographical documentary was invited to both the Toronto and Montreal Film Festivals and won three Golden Sheaf Awards at the Yorkton Short Film Festival.

In addition to her producing work, Dawe served as co-chair of the Toronto Chapter of the Canadian Independent Film Caucus (DOC) during the CIFC's period of national expansion and the launch of the HotDocs Festival.
