Producer, director, journalist, writer, Peter Raymont has produced and directed over 100 films and TV series during a 44 year career. He is responsible for more than 200 hours of programming.
Raymont’s films have been honoured with 52 international awards including 13 Geminis (45 nominations), Gold and Silver Hugos and The Sesterce d’Argent, among others. His documentary feature, Shake Hands with the Devil: The Journey of Roméo Dallaire received the 2007 Emmy for Best Documentary and the 2006 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award.
Raymont is the Executive Producer and co-creator of the award-winning TV drama series The Border (38 X 1 hr), produced for the CBC, sold to over 25 broadcasters and versioned into 11 languages. The highly-rated CBC drama series Cracked (21 X 1 hr) was broadcast in 30 countries.
Raymont’s films are often provocative investigations of “hidden worlds” in politics, the media, and big business. His films are informed with a passion for human rights and social justice.
A Promise to the Dead: The Exile Journey of Ariel Dorfman (2007) and Genius Within: The Inner Life of Glenn Gould (2009) were shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Long Form Documentary. They both premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. A Promise to the Dead won 9 awards, including the DGC Award for Best Documentary and the 2008 Academy of Canadian Cinema’s Donald Brittain Award for Best Social Political Documentary. Genius Within, co-directed by long-time collaborator Michèle Hozer, was released theatrically in Canada, USA, Germany and Australia.
West Wind: The Vision of Tom Thomson was released theatrically across Canada, screened in the U.S, the UK, The Netherlands and Norway. It received 6 international honours, including the Directors’ Guild of Canada’s prestigious Alan King Award.
Raymont’s work includes the popular sports documentaries The New Ice Age: A Year in the Life of the NHL, (CBC – 6 X 1 hrs), co-produced and co-directed with Joseph Blasioli and Chasing the Dream, following the lives of three prospects, from the U.S., the Dominican Republic and Canada, vying to find a spot on the Toronto Blue Jays.
He recently completed two feature length documentaries, Guantanamo’s Child, about controversial inmate at Guantanamo Bay, Omar Khadr and Painted Land: In Search of the Group of Seven, which focuses on a group of researchers who set out to find the vistas that inspired Canada’s most famous artists – The Group of Seven. Steve Ord joined White Pine Pictures as its COO in January, 2013. He has over 20 years of media experience as a senior manager and professional consultant. Until 2008, Steve held the position of Executive Vice President, Alliance Atlantis Communications, where he was responsible for business aspects of AAC’s international television division and production business. He worked on Canadian production and the CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION franchise. He was Executive Producer on the long running COLD SQUAD series. Prior to AAC, Steve was Manager of Business Affairs at Telefilm Canada (Toronto). He also worked three years in policy consulting with Paul Audley & Associates. He has an MBA degree from York University.
Head of Factual Entertainment Development
Andrew Munger has been writing, producing and directing documentary and factual programming for Canadian broadcasters for nearly twenty five years.
He is the producer and director of award winning films including Wal-Mart Nation, Campaign, The Making of a Candidate, Xanadu; In Search of Domestic Perfection and numerous other films. For 5 years Andrew managed the Television Production program for World Vision Canada, Canada’s largest non-profit organization. His work at World Vision took him to Africa, Latin America and Asia where he created content to drive World Vision fundraising and awareness. Andrew is currently in production on several projects at White Pine including Arctic Secrets (Blue Ant/Love Nature) and All Governments Lie (Park Foundation). In addition he’s developing a slate of factual programs including: Bitches Behind Bars, and The Repatriation Game.
Head of Scripted Development
An industry veteran with over 25 years in the entertainment sector. Karynn’s vast experience covers the full spectrum of content creation, distribution, financing and programming. Her early years were spent in production working in both film and television. She then moved on to distribution, holding senior positions at C/FP Distribution, Malofilm, TVA Films and Equinoxe. In distribution she had the good fortune to work on the sale, marketing, acquisition and development of many high profile feature films. After honing her skills in distribution, she moved onto film financing and served as National Feature Film Executive at Telefilm Canada. Most recently, Karynn served as Director of Programming (contract position) for TMN/HBO Canada.
Head of Marketing & Communications, Operations Manager
With a focus on Marketing, Davida has worked for some of Canada’s leading production companies over the last 11 years. Prior to joining White Pine in 2007, she worked at PeaceArch Entertainment in their post-production department, as well as Robert Lantos’ Serendipity Point Films where she assisted the Head of Marketing & Communications on several films, including the Oscar-nominated Being Julia, and Atom Egoyan’s Where the Truth Lies. As Head of Marketing & Communications, Davida oversees the overall corporate branding and online presence of White Pine Pictures. She has created and implemented marketing strategies for many of the award-winning documentaries, including both Oscar short-listed films A Promise to the Dead and Genius Within, and oversaw the award and broadcast strategy for all three seasons of White Pine’s drama series The Border on CBC. She completed the theatrical release for the documentary West Wind as well as its BellMedia interactive website www.TomThomsonArt.ca, and worked on the global marketing plan for White Pine’s CBC TV series Cracked.
Director of Business & Legal Affairs
After spending the last few years as a civil litigator at a boutique law firm in Toronto, Jason Meloche joined White Pine Pictures as their Director of Business and Legal Affairs. Before studying law, Jason was an entertainer – performing in various film, television, music and theatre projects, including, “Wild Card“, “Blues Brothers 2000“, “Owning Mahowny” and the mega-musicals Miss Saigon and Les Miserables. His career took him to incredible cities throughout Canada and Europe. Upon his return to Toronto from Europe in 2005, and after meeting Entertainment lawyer Chris Taylor, he was inspired to pursue a career in the field of law. Since becoming a lawyer, Meloche has amassed extensive experience arguing motions and trials throughout the Ontario Superior Court system and has negotiated countless settlements before mediators and Judges. Jason is an active member of the Entertainment, Media and Communication section of the Ontario Bar Association who organizes conferences in order to keep abreast of the legislative and practical advances in the field of Entertainment Law. He is also a member of the performing rights society ACTRA.

With over 10 years of previous accounting experience, Adriana joined White Pine Pictures in 2012 as the company’s Bookkeeper. She began working in film and television finance four years ago on the hit TV series So You Think You Can Dance Canada and has built up a thorough knowledge of the industry’s specific accounting needs. As White Pine’s bookkeeper, Adriana oversees all aspects of payables and payroll.
Digital Media Manager
Phil Wilson has worked in many capacities at White Pine including web management, graphics, post-production, rights clearances, festival coordination and marketing. In 2010, Phil contributed to the re-launch of the White Pine website and supervised the re-organization of both digital and physical assets including White Pine’s extensive tape library. He is currently responsible for all digital inventories and shoot footage across all projects as well as overseeing White Pine’s post-production office and edit suites.
In between White Pine assignments, Phil worked as an assistant editor with award-winning director/editor Michèle Hozer on various documentaries, (Triage, Promise to the Dead, Radical Dreamer) and with composer Mark Korven in music rights administration for White Pine’s award-winning drama series, The Border.
Joining White Pine Pictures in 2012, Alicia Giammaria is responsible for designing and keeping promotional materials ready by coordinating requirements with our management team. During her time at White Pine Pictures, she has developed strong relationships with vendors as well as key contacts in the industry, while planing meetings for several markets and festivals. Alicia looks after social media and website upkeep and is currently working on the theatrical release of Painted Land: In Search of the Group of Seven and Guantanamo’s Child: Omar Khadr Alicia was born and raised in Montreal, QC where she studied documentary film and in her spare time, she works on her photography.
Production Manager and Development Coordinator
Since joining White Pine in 2013, Maxim has had a wide variety of responsibilities, including production coordination, graphic design, web management, and marketing coordination. He’s currently focused on factual development, working with Andrew Munger to flesh out new projects, bring them to broadcasters, and get them production ready.
Born and raised in Saskatoon, Maxim moved to Toronto after earning a B.A (Hons) in International Development and Cultural Studies from Trent University and a post-graduate certificate in Film and Television Production from Sheridan College. Before working at White Pine, he had the opportunity to complete internships with Toronto’s Mercury Films and TIFF.
In his spare time, Maxim also produces and directs his own films, most recently co-creating World Away, a six-part web series.
